Kaze-no-Nukemichi(風の抜け道)
Funky Drive
Lazy Cruise
Funky Drive
Lazy Cruise
Funky Drive
Lazy Cruise
Lazy Cruise
Funky Drive, Lazy Cruise
Funky Drive, Lazy Cruise
Kaze-no-Nukemichi [English Translation]
The colors of the city blur,
A windshield at three in the afternoon.
Humming a song I don’t even know,
I just keep moving down the road.
A cat by the convenience store, a lazy kind of truth,
The flavor of canned coffee is overly sweet.
A gentle breeze carries away
One piece of your memory, somewhere far.
A Funky Drive, searching for a wind passage,
Riding a road that belongs to no one.
A Lazy Cruise, leaving the noise behind,
Just for now, it’s okay to be myself.
The cloudy sky somehow
Feels kind and forgiving.
Before the traffic light turns,
I leave a memory behind.
Across the intersection,
A café sign I’ve never seen.
Should I take a detour?
There’s no real reason.
A Funky Drive, searching again for a wind passage,
Forgetting the rules, just a little.
From here on, a Lazy Cruise in silence,
Just for now, I want to be alone.
The scenery keeps flowing past,
All of it feels so far away now.
I choose “going” over “returning,”
I like afternoons like this.
A Funky Drive, searching for a wind passage,
I want to touch a place not on the map.
A silent radio playing during a Lazy Cruise,
Just for now, just this moment is enough.
Let it stay this way—Lazy Cruise.
Funky Drive, Lazy Cruise,
A journey that’s only mine.
Funky Drive, Lazy Cruise,
A road that exists just for today.
Liner Notes
“Kaze-no-Nukemichi” originally began as a track imagined with a jazz-funk groove, close in spirit to “Musō Mode.” However, the moment lyrics were added, its direction shifted dramatically, and before I realized it, the song had transformed into a classic city pop style.
Its light, open sound feels perfectly suited for a drive. Simply rolling down the window a little as you cruise along can make your mood lift effortlessly. While it may not be for everyone, it’s the kind of song that truly connects with those it resonates with.
This track was written for people who love driving—especially those who cherish the time spent listening to music in their cars. The lyrics were chosen to feel natural to hum along to while keeping one hand on the steering wheel.
I hope this song makes your drive even a little more comfortable and enjoyable.
And if it can become a companion during those moments on the road, that would make me very happy.
