“Messenger of Justice” unintentionally became a song with a strong social message.
What began as a piece inspired by the digital realm gradually transformed into lyrics that reflect the realities of our present-day society.
On social media, we constantly witness scenes of people condemning and opposing one another.
Even when each individual believes they are acting in the name of justice, once those actions accumulate, they can quietly turn into a form of violence.
In the digital world, everyone behaves like a police officer—spreading surveillance nets, searching for guilt, and passing judgment.
A surveillance society is not created by those in power alone;
it is something that emerges through the unconscious participation of each and every one of us.
That thought kept resurfacing as I worked on this song.
It may divide listeners’ opinions, but personally, it’s a track I’m very fond of.
The sound—where rock and funk intersect, reminiscent of Marvin Gaye’s “Rockin’ After Midnight” from the 1980s—feels like a perfect match for the song’s heavy theme.
