Pop Color(ポップ・カラー)
胸の奥で 揺れる色
青く沈み 赤く染まる
涙も 怒りも 通り過ぎて
やがて静かに 光を放つ
Kaleidoscope dreams in a turning glass,
Fractured lights that fade and pass.
Every color tells a tale,
Of hearts that bloom, then pale.
Colors clash, then blend as one,
A canvas kissed by setting sun.
No perfect lines, no need to hide—
In every shade, I’m still alive.
Colors clash, then blend as one,
A canvas kissed by setting sun.
No perfect lines, no need to hide—
In every shade, I’m still alive.
Pop Color [English Translation]
Colors trembling deep inside my chest,
Sinking into blue, then blushing red.
Tears and anger pass me by,
And quietly, they start to shine.
Kaleidoscope dreams in a turning glass,
Fractured lights that fade and pass.
Every color tells a tale,
Of hearts that bloom, then pale.
Colors clash, then blend as one,
A canvas kissed by setting sun.
No perfect lines, no need to hide—
In every shade, I’m still alive.
Pop color, shifting scenes unfold,
A story no one else has told.
Joy and scars alike remain,
Painting who I am again.
I kept that voice from long ago,
Staring at a page left blank and cold.
But now I’m not afraid to see,
Even blurred colors belong to me.
Pop color, layers of passing time
Gently light this heart of mine.
Even days I can’t quite smile,
I let them be, just for a while.
Pop color, words I couldn’t say,
Gathering the light that spilled away.
Holding onto shades that feel like mine,
I paint the future, line by line.
Colors clash, then blend as one,
A canvas kissed by setting sun.
No perfect lines, no need to hide—
In every shade, I’m still alive.
Liner Notes
“Pop Colors” was inspired by the image of a kaleidoscope.
While the core of the sound is rooted in R&B, I experimented with weaving in subtle Japanese and Asian textures, gradually shaping the track through trial and error.
It’s a short piece—just over two minutes—but that fleeting quality is part of its charm. Within the album Melty, I feel it works as a gentle yet effective accent.
The English lyrics were carefully developed in collaboration with ChatGPT, resulting in a beautifully balanced track where rich sonic textures and colorful nuances coexist.
For the cover artwork, I originally tried to capture the visual world of a kaleidoscope, but it didn’t quite come together. Instead, I chose a colorful Japanese umbrella as the main motif. In the end, that decision fit the image of the song surprisingly well, and it’s become one of my favorite aspects of the release.
