Liner Notes
“Kotolectric” is a cover of “Electric” and also a defining track that embodies the spirit of the Kotolectric project itself.
Japanese traditional music and hard rock have a natural affinity—much like the raw energy found in folk songs such as Soran Bushi. Inspired by the title “Electric,” this version boldly brings electric guitar to the forefront, transforming the song into a powerful, heavy rock arrangement.
While the original track aimed for a more mechanical, electronic sound that emphasized the fusion of technology, this rendition takes a completely different approach. It reimagines the piece with a more emotional, dynamic, and forceful expression.
The shamisen solo is especially striking, matching the intensity of an electric guitar solo without losing any presence or power. Its fierce energy feels almost physical, raising the listener’s temperature as the song unfolds.
This track stands at the core of the project—a head-on collision between traditional Japanese sounds and rock music, charged with raw passion and electricity.
